PROFILE

Ka Ga Nga Ethnic Music was officially formed on January 1, 2018, based on a shared vision among its founding members. Hailing from Bengkulu, Sumatera, Indonesia, the group creates contemporary sounds rooted in Bengkulu, exploring oral literature and traditional music while seamlessly blending them with modern elements to present unique, captivating live performances.

The name "Ka Ga Nga" is inspired by the native script of Rejang Lebong Regency also historically known as "Surat Ulu" or the "Rencong script," locally referred to as the Kaganga alphabet. The group chose this name to honor Bengkulu’s only indigenous writing system, turning a rare piece of cultural heritage into a proud symbol of local identity.
